Posted by Morag Barrett | April 14, 2015Employee Retention – It’s all about Relationships.As you will be aware, professional relationships are close to my heart and in my opinion make or break companies, teams and individual careers every single day.A recent study by the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) found that it was the people that made a difference as to whether an employee was happy in their role and intended to stay. Relationships appeared three times in the top 10 reasons to stay and outweighed pay, which ranked 6th (not a surprise to many of us I am sure!)Of the 2,000 people in the UK that replied to the survey, eight out of ten said they would turn down a big salary increase if it meant working with people or an environment they didn’t like. It seems that relationships really do matter!
