Relationships appeared three times in the top 10 reasons to stay and outweighed pay, which ranked 6th (not a surprise to many of us I am sure!)Of the 2,000 people in the UK that replied to the survey, eight out of ten said they would turn down a big salary increase if it meant working with people or an environment they didn’t like. It seems that relationships really do matter! More importantly the quality of those relationships matter most of all. Here were the top 10 reasons for staying with a current employerI have a good relationship with my colleaguesI enjoy the job roleI have a good relationship with my bossI don’t have another job to go toThe commute is manageableThe payI have a good relationship with my clientsI feel I have the chance to develop my careerI’m good at the jobI am not under much stressForget “location, location, location” it’s all about the “relationship, relationship, relationship”!I’m curious. What keeps you in your current role, with your current employer? How would you rate the health of your professional relationships at work? When was the last time you expressed thanks or gratitude to a colleague at work?Related Articles Share
